Study in Cuba for 10 days

Complete coursework online and travel to Cuba June 15-25.

Deadline to apply is March 30.

The newest CHANCE field program is an immersive research and conservation journey in western Cuba. The 2016 CHANCE Cuba program consists of the following courses: Biology 496(C) or EM SC 496(A), Cuba - Environmental Protection, Resource Depletion and the Sustainability of a Developing Nation (online) with Biology 496(D) or EM SC 496(B) - A Field Practicum in Cuba. Taken together, but sequentially, these courses will allow undergraduate and graduate students to earn credits and hours in biology that will prepare them to better understand the challenges of conservation biology (the scientific study of the phenomena that affect the maintenance, loss, and restoration of biological diversity) and global sustainability (the pursuit of human health and happiness, environmental quality, and economic well-being for current and future generations). To do this, both courses create unique learning environments which immerse participants, students and teachers, in real-world research and conservation efforts using inquiry-based strategies and interdisciplinary approaches.
