Former Dean for Continuing Education, Shirley Hendrick (1936–2000), advocated for adult education opportunities and services at Penn State. The Hendrick award recognizes a Penn State administrator who has continued Shirley’s legacy by contributing to the advancement of adult learners. Associate Dean for Education in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, Hampton N. Shirer, was nominated by ESP faculty and was awarded the 2015 Shirley Hendrick Award.
