The Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance (KEEA) is the premier business
association representing the energy efficiency and renewable industries in Pennsylvania.
Founded in 2008 to represent business interests before the state Public Utility Commission and Legislature, KEEA and its partners successfully advocated to pass Pennsylvania’s landmark energy efficiency resource standard, Act 129. Since then, KEEA has worked to deepen and expand the market for building energy efficiency through a range of policies and programs. Just as the Internet transformed how the world does business, energy management technology is transforming how homeowners, businesses, and industry manage energy use in the built environment. Now with 65 members, representing thousands of professionals statewide, KEEA and its partners have momentum growing for the energy efficiency industry in Pennsylvania.
Position Summary:
The Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance (KEEA) is soliciting applications
for a spring/summer opening in Philadelphia for a full-time Member Services - Energy
Efficiency Solutions Advocate with strong communication skills to promote business solutions
that save energy users money across Pennsylvania. Applications are requested by March 20.
Responsibilities: The Member Services - Energy Efficiency Solutions Advocate will promote
energy efficiency policy and manage programs that educate Pennsylvanians on the benefits of
capital investments, operational, and behavioral initiatives that enhance building energy
efficiency. The Advocate will collaborate with KEEA’s staff, business members and key partners including business and environmental advocacy organizations, electric and gas utility energy efficiency program managers, state and city government officials, and Public Utility
Commission. A key component of the position will be analyzing data, designing and drafting
communications, and managing relationships to educate key decision-makers and the public on energy efficiency issues.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include research, analysis and advocacy in the following areas:
• Utility energy efficiency policies, cost-benefit studies, and program development.
• Electric and gas utility incentive regulation.
• Energy efficiency in schools and municipalities.
• Energy efficiency in the building sector.
• Other clean energy policies.
Qualifications:
0-3 years of relevant professional experience in the utility or energy efficiency
industry, and/or graduate degree in engineering, energy, public policy, finance, or law, are a plus, but not required. Highly talented 2014 college graduates are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will have the personal and professional skills to advance KEEA’s objectives,
including:
• Persuasive written and oral advocacy skills, particularly communicating technical and
analytical information clearly and persuasively.
• Strong technical research, analytical and quantitative skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work on coalitions and teams.
• Familiarity with public policy, especially utility regulation, energy efficiency programs
and technology, and energy and climate change policy.
