June 24 - Lunch & Learn - Advocacy & Action: how to get involved at all levels

06/24/2020 - 6:30pm

About this Event

It doesn't take advocating on the national level to create sustainable change in our communities. Instead, you can help create change at all levels including neighborhood associations, district, city and state governments and even in your workplace. State Representative Lisa Cutter and Recycle CO's Program Director Laura Levesque, will take us through ways that you can easily get involved at all levels to create change for a better tomorrow. Learn how we can advocate and take action in our own communities today. Lisa will also give updates on what's happening at the State level with sustainable policies (pre-COVID) and what work needs to be done next year.

About our Speakers

Lisa Cutter

Lisa (State Represenative) just finished her first term as a legislator. She campaigned on sustainability and stewardship of our resources, and has demonstrated her commitment by prioritizing environmental legislation. She requested an interim committee last summer to dive more deeply into sustainability issues, and chaired the committee. She was born in Colorado, and finds joy in the outdoors through hiking, kayaking and camping.

Laura Levesque

Growing up on a small farm in New England, Laura understood the importance of Sustainability at an early age. Today, she advocates for sustainability on her town’s Sustainability Advisory Board and sets concepts into action as the Programs Director for Recycle Colorado. Her free time is spent on the trails, in her garden, and (this year) on her driveway for socially distanced Happy Hours.
