The York Maine Energy Steering Committee (ESC) is a group of volunteers who advise the town Selectboard on how to reduce energy use and increase the use of renewable energy and reach out to all town residents to facilitate conversation about energy conservation. Now, we must foster an energy-conscious culture throughout our municipal organization and get the tools for smarter energy decisions to our residents, especially into our low-income households, who studies have shown to have a high energy burden. Finally, we will be assessing the opportunities for energy conservation in York households, particularly low -income households, with the goal of making increased energy efficiency and the resultant cost savings more accessible. yorkmaine.org/221/Energy-Steering-Committee.
