The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) is an international organization which works as a solutions broker to accelerate action and support for adaptation solutions, from the international to the local, in partnership with the public and private sector, to ensure we learn from each other and work together for a climate resilient future.
The GCA is a Managing Partner of the Global Commission on Adaptation and works to implement the Commission’s Action Tracks: 1) Finance; 2) Water; 3) Cities; 4) Nature Based Solutions; 5) Infrastructure; 6) Locally-Led; 7) Rural Development; and 8) Disaster Response. The GCA implements the detailed program of the Action Tracks and the further refinement of the Action Tracks into the five Bold Ideas on Adaptation, which will be further developed by the Center during 2020-2025. The Bold Ideas are: 1) Finance; 2) Working with Nature for More Resilient Infrastructure; 3) Rural Well Being and Food Security; 4) Water and Urban; and 5) Youth Leadership.
Profile:
We are looking for a Program Officer to support the development and implementation of the Water and Urban Bold Idea. The Program Officer will support the Program Lead to position GCA as a leader and provider of innovative programmatic responses by facilitating and leading new business development efforts that will comprise the Water and Urban core thematic areas in GCA’s multi-year business plan. The Program Officer will work closely with the GCA’s other thematic teams, including the Urban team.
