Research Analyst, Energy Technologies

E Source serves as a trusted advisor to utilities and their partners, sorting through industry hype and providing concise strategic insights and in-depth analyses. E Source is looking for a Customer Energy Solutions (CES) Analyst will work with the rest of the CES team to support E Source member utilities across North America.

 

For over 30 years, E Source has provided unbiased, independent, and leading-edge information and advisory services to hundreds of electric and gas utilities across the US and Canada. Through on-demand research, reports, software tools, web conferences, in-person meetings, and consulting, E Source provides critical analyses and strategic market insights to support customer-facing utility business functions. Our mission is to advance the efficient use of energy by increasing the effectiveness of our members programs, operations, and customer relationships.

 

One of the key responsibilities of the CES Analyst is to respond to questions from our utility members about a range of energy technologies, trends, and programs. Some sample questions include:

  • What is the status of gas and electric heat pump technology, and where is it best suited?
  • Do you have specific recommendations for energy-saving opportunities in pulp and paper manufacturing facilities?
  • What information do you have on lighting color, its effect on productivity, and how that may impact efficiency programs?
  • Do smart thermostats exist for line voltage applications, and, if so, what are the potential energy savings they offer?
