Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) is seeking a Data Analyst to support two key initiatives.
1. Heat Waves and AC Assessment: as climate change continues to impact our communities, understanding expected impacts and adaptation measures is key. SVCE seeks support in leveraging existing work to analyze heat wave trends, anticipated AC adoption and implications.
· Carry out initial background work, including perform literature review, aggregate and interpret climate data/forecasts, and incorporate customer segmentation information
· Through data analysis, uncover useful heat wave trends for SVCE territory and identify key customer segments and impacts
· Develop AC adoption forecasts and interpret impacts on SVCE peak loads, costs
· Summarize findings and provide recommendations for future programmatic work supporting impacted customers, including the value proposition of new AC for those currently without it
2. Energy Data Warehouse: assist in operationalizing SVCE’s cloud-based energy data warehouse through the development of queries, visualizations, reports, and a summary of findings.
· Review data, existing queries, and built-in functionalities in Google Cloud Platform
· Work with SVCE staff to understand important use cases and what additional tools would be beneficial
· Research external resources that can be leveraged in support of the data warehouse and work to integrate them
· Develop additional functionalities, visualizations, and reports as needed, using software new to or already used by SVCE
· Support SVCE’s work on understanding and implementing data aggregation methods such that anonymized data may be easily and appropriately shared with external parties.
