Manager, Energy for Kohls - Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

UTILITY STRATEGY MANAGEMENT

  • Responsible for annual utility expense budget of over $120 million and capital budget of over $25 million
  • Lead the procurement strategies for electricity and natural gas in deregulated utility markets
  • Manage utility rebates for all Company projects by leveraging third-party resources and utilities
  • Primary contact for third party utility invoice payment services which include the responsibility for reporting and benchmarking
  • Drive and evolve national renewable energy and carbon offset strategies

 

ENERGY EFFICIENCY STRATEGIES

  • Lead demand response programs in eligible states with utility companies and third party administrators to reduce usage during events which creates incentives
  • Responsible for the review and recommendation of alternative energy sources and solutions, including development of business case documents and presentation of subject matter
  • Develop the strategy and business case of the LED retrofit program
  • Translate strategies into plans and initiatives, communicate cost savings opportunities, project activity, budget performance, and financial reports to leadership
  • Drive Kohl's energy analytics program which will identify store locations with the highest energy consumption and resolve anomalies causing such increases and reduce consumption
  • Partners with Sustainability team on Sustainability reporting to track environmental metrics in progress towards goals

 

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Acts as the company liaison within the utility industry regarding energy-related matters, including power quality, utility program opportunities, alternative energy opportunities, outage resolution, power restoration, rate cases and rate mitigation


MANAGEMENT

  • Manages direct reports and projects to achieve goals in accordance with Company policies and practices
  • Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communication.
  • Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans.
  • Primary contact that collaborates with many departments within the company as well as external vendors
