Becoming a Social Entrepreneur: Falling in Love with a Social Problem
Articles, interviews, conferences- life on an entrepreneur may seem glamorous on the outside, but in reality, there's a lot of elements that go into making a successful entrepreneur. Being an entrepreneur is like being in a committed relationship- where time, energy and passion towards solving a certain problem determines your entrepreneurial journey. In my talk, I'll share about my relationship with solving the problem of water contamination in Bangladesh- a journey filled with ups and downs, triumphs and failures, and most importantly, a journey which has been the greatest teacher about reality and experiences; the journey that transformed a timid 17 year old high school kid into one of the most recognized young social entrepreneurs in Bangladesh.
The CSL will be hosting eleven Sustainability Showcases this spring to make connections between faculty research, personal and professional interest and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals while broadening the discourse surrounding sustainability. Speakers are invited to give a thirty-minute talk, answer questions and hang around to mingle with attendees.
This year, the theme for the showcase series is: The Time is Now.
Events are on Fridays 12 - 1:30 pm, are held in 233AB HUB and include lunch for RSVP'd guests.
