Sustainability Showcase: Isaac Vergun (with Pam Vergun)

Description

Youth Acting for our Earth (YAE!)—Working to Bring the Government on Our Side, with All ‘Required’ Speed

Isaac and Pam Vergun will be speaking about their work helping youth and parents learn about and act on the Climate Crisis through their program, Youth Acting for our Earth (YAE!) and Isaac Vergun’s work as a plaintiff in the Juliana Federal Climate Lawsuit. In addition, Mario Rodriguez Cruz will be speaking briefly from his perspective of being a YAE youth climate leader.

Isaac is 17 years old and co-founded YAE with Pam. We are bringing a team from Oregon to lead a YAE training in State College for 4th-12th graders with their parents on February 15th from 8:45 AM to about 2:30 PM. For more information and to register for the training, please visit: www.ClimateChangeRecovery.org.

The CSL will be hosting eleven Sustainability Showcases this spring to make connections between faculty research, personal and professional interest and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals while broadening the discourse surrounding sustainability. Speakers are invited to give a thirty-minute talk, answer questions and hang around to mingle with attendees.

This year, the theme for the showcase series is: The Time is Now.

Events are on Fridays 12 - 1:30 pm, are held in 233AB HUB and include lunch for RSVP'd guests.
