Tell your story!

Dear Students,

The Student Engagement Network (SEN) is hosting the third annual Student Engagement Expo on Wed., November 13th, 2019, in the HUB-Robeson Center at University Park and you can be a part of the event! All students are encouraged to participate. Here's how:

1. Show the impact of your engagement experience in the form of a poster

2. Share your engagement experience story as a lightning round presenter

3.  Share your engagement experience as a performer or performing group

Poster Session

The main poster session will be held in Alumni Hall from 6-7:00pm at the Expo. All students that are chosen to present a poster should plan to be at this session. Students are also encouraged to participate in two OPTIONAL poster sessions during the Student Engagement Summit earlier in the day from 9:00-9:45am and 12:00-1:00pm. These are also located in Alumni Hall.

Once your poster is set up (if it is at one of the earlier sessions), it can remain there for the rest of the day for attendees to enjoy.

During the poster showcase, 1-2 students will need to be present at their poster to discuss their engagement experience with event attendees. Posters of all engagement types (i.e. research findings, service learning trips, capstone projects, etc.) are welcome.

Lightning Round Presentations

Lightning round presentations will take place in Alumni Hall from 7:00 -8:00 p.m. They are designed to be similar to TED talks—quick, engaging, and lasting no more than five minutes. Students may present individually or as part of a group, and will speak to how their engagement experience has impacted their life and academic career. Selected presenters will be required to put together their own presentation and participate in an informational meeting.

Performers

Students who are interested in performing at the SEN Expo can send a submission and video sample to engage@psu.edu to be considered to sign up for a time slot from 6:00-7:00pm.

To learn more about the event and submit a proposal, visit engage.psu.edu/events/expo.  The deadline to submit a proposal is Wednesday, October 23rd. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us directly at engage@psu.edu.

Sincerely,

The Student Engagement Network Team
