GreenGov Council Director

The Department of General Services, GreenGov Council, is seeking a motivated, energy-conscious individual to serve as the Commonwealth's GreenGov Council Director in developing and executing energy management strategies and sustainability improvements for state government agencies.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the GreenGov Council Director, you will plan and develop all aspects of implement the Governor's Executive Order 2019-1 enterprise-wide, driving significant energy efficiency and sustainability improvements that are tracked, benchmarked and reported to the GreenGov Council and the public.  In this essential position, you will collaborate will all Commonwealth agencies to develop projects, practices and procedures to reduce energy and water usage in all Commonwealth-owned and leased facilities; review energy-saving proposals and assist agencies with implementing energy-saving efforts; develop, revise, recommend and implement various energy conservation policies, procedures, methods and standards impacted by changes in technology, funding, and administrative policies; develop education program materials and; develop and instruct energy awareness training. 

In addition, you will develop reporting materials in various formats to include infographics, video clips, press releases and fact sheets and provide written reports and results of all energy-related program measures, dollar savings realized and carbon emissions reduced for the enterprise.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

One year as an Administrative Officer 4; or

Eight years of experience in progressively responsible and varied management or staff work in a large public or private organization, including personnel and fiscal management, budgeting and procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
