PERC Web Communication Intern

PERC is looking for current students who have a passion for the environment and want to push sustainability forward with an established statewide leader in higher education sustainability. Gain hands-on experience in working with a non-profit environmental organization. Take action to make your part of the world more sustainable.

Location
Work from home or school most of the time. Typically, travel requirements include monthly meetings with the Executive Director in Harrisburg and attendance at our annual conference.

Responsibilities
•    Assist in evaluating the PERC website in terms of usability, content, and design.
•    Work with the Executive Director to make recommendations for streamlining website usability, updating or revamping organization of content and creating new content.
•    Implement/migrate new design.
•    Other duties as warranted to increase communication between member schools and increase visibility of member achievements and PERC events.
•    Assist with social media presence

Qualifications and Skills: We are looking for students dedicated to environmental action. If you are interested in this role but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed, we encourage you to apply.
•    Experience or training in website usability and design/ graphic design a real plus.
•    Good organizational skills.
•    Deadline-focused and willing to prioritize internship duties. Highly motivated and self-directed.
•    Able to collaborate and interact effectively. Willingness to learn and pitch in.
•    Strong written and oral communication skills (journalism, marketing writing courses helpful)
•    Ability to use web-based website building tool and work creatively with web templates.
•    Familiarity with environmental issues, especially climate change.
