PERC Member Outreach/Social Media Intern

PERC is looking for current students who have a passion for the environment and want to push sustainability forward with an established statewide leader in higher education sustainability. Gain hands-on experience in working with a non-profit environmental organization. Take action to make your part of the world more sustainable.

Location
Work from home or school most of the time. Typically, travel requirements include monthly meetings with the Executive Director in Harrisburg and attendance at our annual conference.

Responsibilities
•    Manage outreach project to contact PERC member schools to update membership contacts.
•    Work with the Executive Director to make recommendations for prioritizing social media options and managing content.
•    Assist in designing framework for keeping content updated and strategy for mining content
•    Assist in developing PERC social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
•    Use social media to complement and expand website content.
•    Other duties as warranted to increase communication between member schools and increase visibility of member achievements and PERC events.

Qualifications and Skills: We are looking for students dedicated to environmental action. If you are interested in this role but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed, we encourage you to apply.
•    Strong organizational skills. Deadline-focused and willing to prioritize internship duties.
•    Strong written and oral communication skills (journalism, marketing writing courses helpful)
•    Highly motivated and self-directed.
•    Able to collaborate and interact effectively. Willingness to learn and pitch in.
•    Familiarity with environmental issues, especially climate change.
•    Experience in social media strategy a real plus.
