Public Affairs Coordinator
 

American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) seeks a Public Affairs Coordinator to support AWEA’s media relations and Rapid Response capacity to maximize the wind industry’s coverage by the news media; help rebut and reduce inaccurate stories; and help produce materials, organize events, and track performance metrics. The Coordinator, with guidance from the Deputy Director, External Communications, is responsible for fielding incoming media requests with preapproved responses; drafting online comments, letters to the editor, requests for briefings and other methods of responding to coverage; pitching reporters to attend press calls; building and maintaining press lists and other databases; arranging logistics for press conferences and outreach events; drafting materials and helping in their production and distribution; and assisting the department with administrative tasks as necessary.
