April 30 - 2018 Local Solutions: Eastern Climate Preparedness Conference

04/30/2018 - 4:00am to 05/01/2018 - 3:59am
Climate change is bringing dramatic impacts to our communities, which will need to learn to adapt in order to thrive. The 2018 Local Solutions: Eastern Climate Preparedness Conference is for sustainability managers, planners, and local government decision-makers and their collaborators striving to create healthy resilient communities. Our past two conferences drew over 1000 participants to sessions covering all aspects of preparing for severe weather and climate change impacts in the United States. This year, our conference is organized around four tracks: public health, built environment, planning and process, and communications, leadership, and engagement. We have an amazing line up of speakers covering a range of climate preparedness and resiliency issues such as sea level rise, urban heat, flooding and vector-borne diseases.

Convened by Antioch University New England and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the 2018 Local Solutions: Eastern Climate Preparedness Conference takes place April 30 through May 2 at The Manchester Downtown Hotel in Manchester, NH. Registration is $345 and includes all programs and daytime meals. We currently have grants to help attendees from Maryland and Vermont. Click here to register or apply for a grant

We are also accepting poster presentations from undergraduate and graduate students related to the conference theme of climate adaptation. A prize of $300 will go to the best presentation. Click here to apply by March 30th
