Energy, Security and Stability Forum - attend online!

The nexus of energy, security and stability will be the focus of a discussion featuring expert practitioners and policy advisers from Penn State and across the nation. The forum, titled "Energy, Security and Stability: Implications for Security, Prosperity and Sustainability for the United States and our Allies and Partners," will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, in Foster Auditorium at Paterno Library on Penn State's University Park campus. The event is free to the public.

Naturally Green: The Journey to Zero Waste - Petersburg, PA

Many people are trying to reduce the amount of waste from their homes and offices that ends up in landfills. In an effort to help, Shaver's Creek Environmental Center and Penn State's Office of Physical Plant (OPP) are holding a workshop on Oct. 3 titled "Naturally Green: The Journey to Zero Waste."

"The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil" - State College, PA

The Educational Theory and Policy (EDTHP) film series will begin next week. Presented by the College of Education, the Penn State Institute for Energy & the Environment and the Center for Sustainability, the EDTHP film series kicks off next Thursday, September 13, with "The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil."

Tom Pfaff, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Co-Director of Multidisciplinary Sustainability Education Project at Ithaca College, will lead the discussion after the film is shown to the audience.

The Penn State Center for Sustainability, the Department of Mathematics, and the Eberly College of Science Center for Excellence in Science Education present a workshop on Multidisciplinary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Engagement through Sustainability Education Sept. 13-14, on Penn State's University Park Campus with invited guest Thomas Pfaff, associate professor of mathematics and co-director of Multidisciplinary Sustainability Education Project, Ithaca College.
