Fossil Energy Research and Development for Clean Power Production

Presented by:
Robert Romanosky

Deputy Director, DOE/NETL Office of Coal and Power R&D

The presentation will focus on the research programs at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) to develop fossil fuel based clean energy power generation systems.  The current research efforts include not only improvements to the current technologies, but also the development of novel transformational technologies capable of generating power with near zero emissions.  Areas of research to be discussed include gasification, combustion, turbines, fuel cells, carbon capture, carbon storage/utilization, high performance materials, and advanced sensors and control systems.

Energy Exchange is a Seminar Series co-sponsored by the EMS Energy Institute and the Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment.
